The Water Cop is a five (5) stage RO (Reverse Osmosis) drinking water system that uses a FilmTec 50 GPD (Gallons Per Day) membrane for truly great drinking water quality and superb production rates. WARNING. New refrigerators have been built to need a 35 PSI inlet pressure. No tap water powered unit can provide enough pressure to do so . Please visit our ED permeate pump unit. If you intend to use the ice and water feature on a new refrigerator DO NOT buy a non pump assisted R.O. system. The Water Cop comes fully assembled and mounted on a sturdy steel frame with hanger holes. The filters and membrane are pre-installed for your convenience. This system is for use on tap or domestic well water.
Stage 1. Heavy duty, standard size 10 Micron Poly Pro sediment filter.
Stage 2. A 5 Micron acid washed* Gem coconut carbon block filter, removing 98-99% of the chlorine from the water.
Stage 3. A 1 Micron acid washed* Gem coconut carbon block filter that removes the remaining chemicals and chlorine. This filter is rated for 9,000 gallons and allows only 1ppm (Parts Per Million) chlorine per gallon.
Stage 4. A 50 GPD FilmTec membrane** that removes large amounts of TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) such as arsenic, mercury, bateria, and viruses.
Stage 5. A granulated carbon polishing filter. The final stage between your 3.2 gallon storage tank and your faucet. This filter improves the taste and quality of your storage water.

Pain In The...Update To Five Stars

Instructions are poor and have no diagrams so unless you're familiar with how to install an RO system, this will more than likely be a big pain in the...If your water supply line is copper, you won't need any extra parts, however if you have flex or soft tubing from your sink water supply line, you will need to order an "adapt-a-valve" from the company or you "may" find one at your local hardware. We have other RO filters installed in our home and are familiar with the setup/operation and thought this one wouldn't be much different...My error in judgement in assuming that there were adequate instructions and all the parts needed were included. The filters actually look like decent premium 5 stage standard filters and I see no reason that they will filter any less effectively than other 5 stage filters (The only reason it's getting two stars and not one). The housing unit and tubing is adequate, but are not made of what I would consider good quality. I have two other RO systems that I paid about $75 more for each and they are built much better and were easy installs. This unit proves that you get what you pay for. I wouldn't recommend this unit and I would not purchase it again. Do yourself a favor and go with a trusted name brand that is a few dollars more, but much better all around. If you're really set on purchasing this unit be aware of the additional fitting that is needed and not included and that the directions are almost useless. I would like to add that this is an actual Amazon verified purchase.Update: As much as I disliked the instructions and assembly of this RO system, I must re-rate from 2 stars and give it five stars. After a week of monitoring the water perimeters, I'm getting better water than what my more expensive units produced. Chlorine, Nitrate and Nitrite levels are at 0. Total Hardness GH ppm is at 0. Alkalinity KH ppm is at 40 and my PH is between 6.8 and 7.0, which suits my needs perfectly. The tank recovery is fast and efficient. I use RO for my humidifiers, coffee maker, iron, steamer and for my freshwater aquariums and this is system is able to produce enough everyday to meet my need and then some. I also use it for half RO and half tap in a Big Berkey water filter for fantastic drinking water. All in all if you can get past the instructions and get this system installed, it's a good system that produces excellent RO water for the price.

excellent and affordable r/o system!

We've had this r/o filtering system for 5 years and it still works like a charm! I recommend buying the calcite filter from the Air, Water,& Ice company to add some minerals back into the water for better health and taste.
