Homak Heavy Duty Tool Chest

I recently bought the HOMAK 27 Inch 9 Drawer Top Chest through Amazon and must say that the price was the best all around and the quality is outstanding.The drawers open smoothly and feel solid and are lined which came standard.All drawers also have a "lock" feature, so when you have the chest in the truck the drawers don't fly open when you apply the brakes.Overall an outstanding heavy duty product, worth every penny.

Good Value

This 9-drawer top chest was a good price for the value. The overall product is sturdy metal with recessed handles on each side making it easy to move as well as to set flush against a wall or other chest. The top lifts up to disengage the drawer locks and has a roomy compartment at the top. The drawers are sturdy, slide smoothly, they come with a rubber mat liner in place, and they don't feel 'cheap'. The one feature I have not liked is that in order to open the drawers the top lid has to be fully opened. Not a big deal but it is something you need to remember to do before using the drawers. Overall I think this is a good product with a great value compared to similar items.

I bought this upper tool chest and I is really good quality for the price and far cheaper to replace than my original Craftsman 9 drawer the same size. I also bought the bottom roller tool cabinet - HOMAK BG04027603 27-Inch SE Series 6-Drawer Rolling Cabinet - Black/Gray and it is on back order for awhile but will be worth the wait.... When you think of it you are into a 27" x 54" combination tool chest and cabinet for 500 BUX and, shipped FREE.. Compare on the Internet and when you add in the outrageous shipping charges the other bargains out there are not bargains when you pay the freight.***Wives, for the hubby's birthday or Father's Day this is a great gift and priced right for a 15 drawer storage system. It is better quality than any homeowner tool box combo you can buy at Kmart or Wal-Mart, etc el cheapo places to buy tool related products and is large enough in drawer storage that your hubby will not run out of tool storage space unless he is a severely addicted tool addict....... Buy with confidence, it's a quality item at a bargain price.

Not necessarily a green choice, but a very nice disposable glass

The problem with corn products is that corn is pretty intensive to farm, and corn products tend to eat a lot of energy in production. I don't know the complicated math you'd need to figure out the overall impact of producing these vs. producing plastic, or of composting these vs. recycling plastic. Conventional wisdom would suggest that a plant product will eventually break down in a landfill, while traditional plastics won't, so at least if they're both tossed, this seems a better option (but when you compare trashing these--since most people don't have access to a commercial composting facility in their community--to recycling plastics, much more common--it's a muddier question). And aside from the energy equation bottom lines, there are of course general concerns about the impact of the food supply/cost of diverting food crops for industrial/manufacturing use. I suspect that if the math were clearly favorable, the company would advertise it more vigorously.I live out in the country, so we don't have easy access to a basic recycling facility, much less a commercial composting facility (I doubt the average city-dweller does, either). These cups make more sense in areas with progressive composting programs (last year, I noticed many composting bins around urban public areas Denmark & Sweden). I suspect they won't readily compost in the lower temperatures of a backyard composter, but I'll toss them in and report back in a couple of months. :)One presumed advantage might be that, in the kitchen or landfill, they wouldn't leach the harmful chemicals plastics do. But then I'm not an expert on corn plastic & don't know if they contain anything iffy, so I can't increase my rating based on that possibility.In the meantime, if you're looking for a disposable glass, this one's at least good as any plastic glass. It's crystal clear and attractive, a good party bar choice.For an interesting Smithsonian article about the practical greenness of corn plastics visit the Smithsonian Magazine web site and search for "corn plastics."

Trying to do my part environmentally

I must confess that I am not particularly a "green" person but I am trying my best to become more aware of the products I use and the implications each has on the environment. I live in a rural area where the shopping choices for disposable cups and paper products does not include biodegradable/compostable products. Also, my community does not have recycling or other environmental friendly options for trash. Nonetheless, I am hopeful my smarter purchases will at least encourage my family and friends to do the same.I am very satisfied with these cups. The 24-ounce size accommodates a lot of ice for a nice glass of tea, soda, or water--something important for those long, hot Mississippi summer days. While the cup is flexible--it gives when you squeeze it--it has enough strength to avoid breakage from the squeeze. It is by no means flimsy. There is a nice rolled lip on the top of the cup. Best of all, I've noticed no excessive sweating which is something that I really appreciate. Finally, the bottom of the cup has a ribbon of green with the words, "Compostable Made from Plants." This constant reminder on each cup will hopefully lead to conversations about the importance of being environmentally friendly with family, especially the grandchildren.These cups are from Stalkmarket. Jaya 12 oz cups

I used these cups for a group of people, asking them to tell me what they thought of them. The general opinion was that they weren't any different than most plastic cups. They are quite sturdy & have a nice look. I like the fact that they are biodegradable. I would like to see them made from something other than corn.

Pleasantly surprised

I bought this product to provide secure wireless services to our company network. I was pleasantly surprised that it has support for multiple SSIDs with tagged VLAN support (useful for creating a "guest" network for visitors, as well as a separate secure internal network). It supports WPA2-Enterprise, which I'm using together with Windows Server 2003 IAS to allow domain users to be authenticated to the network using their windows login automatically. I was fully expecting problems deploying this somewhat bleading-edge feature, but so far it's worked perfectly (aside from the hassles associated with Microsoft's poor group policy support for WPA2 in XP Pro). The unit has never requiring a restart since I installed it. The physical hardware seems well made also. I'm not using the POE support, because the range on this AP is good enough to allow it to sit in our phone room and cover the entire floor. Overall, this product feels like it's benefited from the Cisco influence, unlike some of Linksys' other recent efforts.

Linksys 2 Satisfaction

I had a home office and a Linksys WRT54g router. I wanted to secure my network more and have more LAN ports, but still have wifi. So I bought this AP, a Linksys VPN firewall Router, and an 8-port switch. Had the AP, the switch, my printer, and NAS plugged into the VPN Router, and my computers to the Switch. Worked flawlessy. This baby has serious range. I would go get the mail (our driveway is about 1/4 mile, and my iPhone would still be connected to the wifi this thing puts out. Also it is so much more secure than a regular 4 port wireless router. You can assigned the IP for it, which will be the gateway for the devices connected. Secure, safe, and awesome. Not for the technically challenged. But easy to you if you should be using it.

Great access point for the money.

I purchased this access point for a customer who had a 7 year old 3Com that was dying. I wasn't sure if it could handle the same amount of traffic as the 3Com. I also wasn't sure if it could give the same coverage.The answer in both cases was yes and it was easy to setup to boot.This customer will need one or two more and it is at the top of the list.
