Good, durable, but not easily serviced.

I bought one of these lights off my Snap-on dealer several years ago (probably around 2008 if memory serves). It just recently died after several years of relatively frequent use and was even run over by a friend's '91 Mercedes 350SDL while he borrowed it!It's apparently not very easily disassembled to service and replace the bulb. That is unfortunate. I'm buying a different light to try out as a replacement (one easier to service/replace the bulb), but overall this National Electric light served me very well for several years! The light output is excellent.

I like this light. It works very well both under the hood and inside the car by attaching it to the roof. It is well constructed, the hooks hold well and it has even survived a, uh, (oops) drop or two.Working with any portable light is always a compromise, this is nice because it puts light all around your work area. Shadows are much less of a problem with a light like this.I had unsatisfactory results with rechargeable lights before, so I didn't consider the battery operated lights, and I much prefer the all around glow of the tube vs LED's. I find LED's are directional, casting their light mostly in one direction.The cord is quite long, though of course I wish it were longer.If like me you find yourself looking it over, the switch is in the cord end. DOH!!PigPen4x4

Great Shell

4 stars because a pair of washers that came with it weren't the right size so I'll have to replace those.its not a good design for anyone with a dog no real way to vent it, I wish the back window would open. I keep the sides unzipped a little to allow some air flow and that seems to be working but it could be better. these issues aside I have to say I really like the shell, after the couple hours installing this thing goes off and on easily and is very durable.
