These boxes are an excellent choice for moving & even storing documents which are "Legal" size format. It's been a challenge to find the combination of a 10 x 15 x 24 box that is affordable and durable - yet not SO permanent that it's made of metal or plastic. I've seen a few cardboard options in this price range, but this specific design by Bankers Box® is almost perfect. Granted, it does take time to "assemble" these things, but it's well worth the investment. The lid... along with the divider pieces - the way it's all designed - each piece seems to re-enforce the entire structure as a whole. It's actually an elegant, yet simple and comfortable to use design. Of course, if you fill one of these boxes completely - tight with folders & files - it's going to weigh quite a bit. I personally will be packing them "lightly" and leaving plenty of space between folders. This order does include 12 boxes after all. And the dividers allow you to space everything out - preventing folders from sliding down or spilling out.At first glance, I questioned the integrity of the cardboard - it seemed a bit thin to be hauling such a heavy load. But after actually assembling them, seeing how easily the "Legal Sized" folders fit - especially with the dividers... I can see that the cardboard is substantial. In addition, the lids also have a "lock" feature which adds to the over-all integrity of the box. There are cut-out handles on either side (for lifting). And with the flat removable lids, you can stack these boxes, which was an important feature for me. Other "banker's boxes" in this specific size (and price range) are usually one solid cardboard piece, with flaps to close the top - which might collapse inward if you were to stack another on top. In a moving or storage situation, there is no question that these Bankers Box® Stor/File divider boxes are of a higher quality.As mentioned, this specific package brings 12 boxes - with individual lids and dividers for each box - so it's a large parcel... and if you can get any kind of Amazon shipping deal on these... even better. These boxes are IDEAL for moving and/or storage of files from Legal sized filing cabinets or furniture. And in the event that you do not need all 12 for their SPECIFIC designed purpose... the dividers ARE removable. Even without the dividers, these boxes are re-enforced at the bottom as well as the sides. Each box comes with a loose, flat piece of cardboard inside - for lining the bottom, and the sides of each box fold down, creating a double layer effect at the top. Once you lock the lid on there... it's sturdy."Assembly required" with these - that is a fact. However the extra time spent putting them together really makes you appreciate the smart design and quality of these Banker's Boxes. Exactly what I was looking for, and at an unbeatable price - all delivered right to my door. Another great Amazon buy!
