Best Gift Ever!

I bought this for my sister who loves Nightmare Before Christmas. I just had to get it!I love the quirky Themed games, and this was the first time I had ever seen anything like this with Nightmare Before Christmas. Perfect for the Hipsters and Hot Topic Crowd, or who I like to call the Burton-Elfman-Deppsters.I like the twist to this scrabble, where you have to switch all your tiles with someone else. Never have I played a Scrabble game so fun and competitive, which makes it so much more fun. Also the personality of the game is brilliant. Scrabble is always a kick when you play it at 1 am; throw in Jack Skellington and a couple of Dr. Peppers and you have a winner.I wish it wasn't so pricey, but if you are looking for that perfect gift for your Burton loving family member I think it is worth it. The fun we have had with it is priceless. Hopefully for Christmas it might go on sale.

The Norton waterstone starter kit includes the basic elements needed for sharpening tools and knives using waterstones: a 220/1000-grit and a 4000/8000-grit combination waterstone, each measuring 1/2 x 8 x 3 inches (H x W x D); a 3/4 x 9 x 3 inch coarse-grit silicon carbide flattening stone; and an instructional DVD. (H is height, the vertical distance from lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back.) Each waterstone comes in a hinged plastic box, with no-slip rubber feet, that protects it and provides a reservoir to keep it moist. The removable box lid acts as a sharpening station to hold the stone in place during bench sharpening. The silicon carbide flattening stone is used to maintain smooth sharpening surfaces on the waterstones. The instructional DVD demonstrates a freehand waterstone sharpening method.

The sharpening stones are used in sequence to restore the cutting edge on straight-edged tools, such as chisels, plane blades, and precision instruments. The 220/1000-grit combination waterstone is suitable for repairing and then establishing the cutting edge. The 4000/8000-grit combination waterstone is suitable for maintaining or refining, and then polishing the cutting edge. The silicon carbide flattening stone is used to smooth the sharpening surfaces and flatten the depressions that repeated use wears in a waterstone, to prepare it for effective sharpening of knives and tools.

These synthetic waterstones are created by grading abrasive material to a consistent particle size and blending it with bonding agents. Next, they are molded and surface-finished. Waterstones have a finer grit and softer bond than oilstones, and use water as the lubricant to develop a slurry, a thin paste of abrasive grains and water that removes metal with less pressure than an oilstone requires. Cleanup is easier than with oil as lubricant. These stones conform to the Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) for waterstones.

Sharpening stones, or whetstones, are abrasive surfaces used to sharpen and hone the edges of steel cutting implements such as chisels, knives, scissors, hand scrapers, and plane blades. Sharpening is the process of creating or re-establishing a cutting edge by grinding away portions of the metal to adjust the angle of the edge and reform the shape. Honing removes small imperfections. Stones can be flat, for working flat edges, or shaped, for edges that are more complex. Sharpening stones are made of natural or synthetic materials that range from softer to harder, and are categorized by the size of their abrasive particles, known as grit. A stone with a coarser grit is used when more metal needs to be removed (e.g., when sharpening a nicked or very dull blade); the stone with the finest grit produces the sharpest edge. Where numbers are assigned to specify grit, they range from coarser grit (low) to finer grit (high). Some sharpening stones are designed for use with a lubricating liquid, some can be used dry, and others can be used either wet or dry. When used with lubricating liquid, a sharpening stone can be called a waterstone or an oilstone, based on the lubricant required.

Good package for sharp edges

I finally spent the money on some quality stones after years of sandpaper sharpening. I'm glad I did. The DVD is very helpful, especially if you don't have a mentor to show you the ropes and is a good value because it teaches how to sharpen without a honing guide. The flattening stone works well and is necessary. If you're on a budget, I'd recommend a 1000/8000 stone,the DVD, and sandpaper for flattening, but if you can spring for it, the kit is a good value and I expect mine will last decades.

Nice set for the money

Anyone who is into sharpening by hand, especially straight razors, will appreciate this set of stones. The set comes highly recommeneded by every forum on straight razor shaving, and should also put a razor edge on any knives and tools you have lying around the house. It even comes with a decent DVD on sharpening. If you are only going to sharpen knives you can easily get by with the 1000/4000 stone and save a few bucks. And, if your graduating from oilstones this set is a real treat.Freehand sharpening is not easy, but with a little education and some tips from YouTube you can do a great job.

This kit includes everything you need to sharpen your chisels and plane blades. It even has a step by step video of how to use the stones. No stone is left unturned in putting together this set. For those who don't have a steady hand a honing guide is recommended, though by no means necessary.

Excellent handling upgrade for your 01-05 IS300, great price and fast Super Saver shipping from Amazon once the item was back in stock. The front sway bar was an absolute bear to replace, with the rear being a piece of cake in comparison. The sway bar set offered a dramatic improvement in handling. These sways should have been offered as a factory upgrade. Using this Eibach sway bar set with Eibach Pro-Kit springs and Tokico Illumina struts. Highly recommended.

Is it silly to love a tool chest?

I love this thing! Before my husband & I lived together we both had separate tool boxes. We've lived together for over a decade & have been married for 8 years but STILL were using two separate tool boxes all this time. It was so frustrating. When looking for a screwdriver you would have to search one box and then the other, often having to take many items out to have a better look. After buying a new condo and doing a bunch of home improvements here and there I was SO tired of how disorganized all of our tools were & what a pain it was to find anything.I finally gave in and bought this tool box & I'm so happy I did. No more searching and taking apart smaller separate tool boxes to find a level or a pliers or wood glue, etc.This box is the perfect size, fits right in my storage closet/pantry, and fits all of the contents of two standard tool boxes plus a whole lot more. Now we also have a neat and organized place to keep all of our extension cords and our drill (which never fit in any of our tool boxes before). It is so nice to have a place for everything and simply open a drawer and see what you need right away instead of rifling through conventional tool boxes. It's such a great value for the the quality you get for the price, too. I really wish I had bought this sooner.

Pleasantly suprised

This 17342 Dynomax Cat-Back Exhaust System turned out to be better than I had expected. Sounds absolutely awsome(not too loud)and has shown a nice performance increase in every day driving and towing, for a quick bolt on system. It took me twice as long to get the factory exhaust off than to put the new system on. Pre-placed hangers worked great and total length was right on. No extra parts required for this kit.Nice job Dynomax.Thanks to Amazon as always... the price was right and shipping was nothing compared to the performance shops.

I ordered this exhaust system from Amazon because it was almost $100 cheaper than anywhere else. It was shipped in an excellent box/packaging. For a pre-made set of pipes and muffler it fit pretty darn well. I would definitely order this type of product from here again. If you're concerned about ordering this set or wondering if it really fits, don't be.

I recently bought the HOMAK 27 Inch 9 Drawer Top Chest through Amazon and must say that the price was the best all around and the quality is outstanding.The drawers open smoothly and feel solid and are lined which came standard.All drawers also have a "lock" feature, so when you have the chest in the truck the drawers don't fly open when you apply the brakes.Overall an outstanding heavy duty product, worth every penny.

This 9-drawer top chest was a good price for the value. The overall product is sturdy metal with recessed handles on each side making it easy to move as well as to set flush against a wall or other chest. The top lifts up to disengage the drawer locks and has a roomy compartment at the top. The drawers are sturdy, slide smoothly, they come with a rubber mat liner in place, and they don't feel 'cheap'. The one feature I have not liked is that in order to open the drawers the top lid has to be fully opened. Not a big deal but it is something you need to remember to do before using the drawers. Overall I think this is a good product with a great value compared to similar items.

Not necessarily a green choice, but a very nice disposable glass

The problem with corn products is that corn is pretty intensive to farm, and corn products tend to eat a lot of energy in production. I don't know the complicated math you'd need to figure out the overall impact of producing these vs. producing plastic, or of composting these vs. recycling plastic. Conventional wisdom would suggest that a plant product will eventually break down in a landfill, while traditional plastics won't, so at least if they're both tossed, this seems a better option (but when you compare trashing these--since most people don't have access to a commercial composting facility in their community--to recycling plastics, much more common--it's a muddier question). And aside from the energy equation bottom lines, there are of course general concerns about the impact of the food supply/cost of diverting food crops for industrial/manufacturing use. I suspect that if the math were clearly favorable, the company would advertise it more vigorously.I live out in the country, so we don't have easy access to a basic recycling facility, much less a commercial composting facility (I doubt the average city-dweller does, either). These cups make more sense in areas with progressive composting programs (last year, I noticed many composting bins around urban public areas Denmark & Sweden). I suspect they won't readily compost in the lower temperatures of a backyard composter, but I'll toss them in and report back in a couple of months. :)One presumed advantage might be that, in the kitchen or landfill, they wouldn't leach the harmful chemicals plastics do. But then I'm not an expert on corn plastic & don't know if they contain anything iffy, so I can't increase my rating based on that possibility.In the meantime, if you're looking for a disposable glass, this one's at least good as any plastic glass. It's crystal clear and attractive, a good party bar choice.For an interesting Smithsonian article about the practical greenness of corn plastics visit the Smithsonian Magazine web site and search for "corn plastics."

Trying to do my part environmentally

I must confess that I am not particularly a "green" person but I am trying my best to become more aware of the products I use and the implications each has on the environment. I live in a rural area where the shopping choices for disposable cups and paper products does not include biodegradable/compostable products. Also, my community does not have recycling or other environmental friendly options for trash. Nonetheless, I am hopeful my smarter purchases will at least encourage my family and friends to do the same.I am very satisfied with these cups. The 24-ounce size accommodates a lot of ice for a nice glass of tea, soda, or water--something important for those long, hot Mississippi summer days. While the cup is flexible--it gives when you squeeze it--it has enough strength to avoid breakage from the squeeze. It is by no means flimsy. There is a nice rolled lip on the top of the cup. Best of all, I've noticed no excessive sweating which is something that I really appreciate. Finally, the bottom of the cup has a ribbon of green with the words, "Compostable Made from Plants." This constant reminder on each cup will hopefully lead to conversations about the importance of being environmentally friendly with family, especially the grandchildren.These cups are from Stalkmarket. Jaya 12 oz cups

I used these cups for a group of people, asking them to tell me what they thought of them. The general opinion was that they weren't any different than most plastic cups. They are quite sturdy & have a nice look. I like the fact that they are biodegradable. I would like to see them made from something other than corn.

Pleasantly surprised

I bought this product to provide secure wireless services to our company network. I was pleasantly surprised that it has support for multiple SSIDs with tagged VLAN support (useful for creating a "guest" network for visitors, as well as a separate secure internal network). It supports WPA2-Enterprise, which I'm using together with Windows Server 2003 IAS to allow domain users to be authenticated to the network using their windows login automatically. I was fully expecting problems deploying this somewhat bleading-edge feature, but so far it's worked perfectly (aside from the hassles associated with Microsoft's poor group policy support for WPA2 in XP Pro). The unit has never requiring a restart since I installed it. The physical hardware seems well made also. I'm not using the POE support, because the range on this AP is good enough to allow it to sit in our phone room and cover the entire floor. Overall, this product feels like it's benefited from the Cisco influence, unlike some of Linksys' other recent efforts.

Linksys 2 Satisfaction

I had a home office and a Linksys WRT54g router. I wanted to secure my network more and have more LAN ports, but still have wifi. So I bought this AP, a Linksys VPN firewall Router, and an 8-port switch. Had the AP, the switch, my printer, and NAS plugged into the VPN Router, and my computers to the Switch. Worked flawlessy. This baby has serious range. I would go get the mail (our driveway is about 1/4 mile, and my iPhone would still be connected to the wifi this thing puts out. Also it is so much more secure than a regular 4 port wireless router. You can assigned the IP for it, which will be the gateway for the devices connected. Secure, safe, and awesome. Not for the technically challenged. But easy to you if you should be using it.

Great access point for the money.

I purchased this access point for a customer who had a 7 year old 3Com that was dying. I wasn't sure if it could handle the same amount of traffic as the 3Com. I also wasn't sure if it could give the same coverage.The answer in both cases was yes and it was easy to setup to boot.This customer will need one or two more and it is at the top of the list.

Durable and comfortable

I bought this for my husband for Christmas last year. He loves it! Its very comfortable, and has withstood a couple of food and football related incidents. I do recommend keeping this away from pets, especially cats who could poke holes or use it as a litter box (sad occurrance for a friend of ours). But all in all, an excellent product.

It's really nice, but...

...although the item was as pictured, I gave it 4/5 stars because it was under filled. The colors, workmanship, delivery and shipping were fine. However, if one must purchase additional filling, then the deal is not a good one. My 6 yr old is on the thin side and he loves anything NY Giants. If the child is average weight or more, he/she will sink to the ground. In my opinion, definitely not for adults.
