These are the best sunglasses! I am actually shopping for a new pair because I unfortunately lost mine, but I had them and wore them almost daily for over 8 years so I feel I got my money's worth. However, I have to take issue with this site listing them at "$300" and then claiming you'll save $160 with their phony discount. The MSRP is $159. C'mon Amazon, get real.

This is my second pair of Maui Jim sunglasses. My first pair was the Cyclone, which has glass lenses versus these which are plastic. I have to start out by being honest here and give my first impression, which was that the glass MJ lenses in my Cyclone are optically superior to the polycarbonate lenses in the Sandy Beach. That being said, the Sandy Beach is MUCH LIGHTER than the Cyclone (which is already one of the lightest glass-equipped MJ models), and the polarization still very much lives up to MJ's reputation for amazing colors and clarity.I have a very small, roundish narrow face (for a guy) and have always had trouble finding a pair of sunglasses that fits me. Even the smallest aviators make me look like a kid trying on daddy's sunglasses. The Sandy Beach, however, is great. These fit me even better than the Cyclone, which is another style recommended for small faces. However, I wouldn't describe the fit of the Sandy Beach as perfect, though. I find that the curved temples stick too far off of the sides of my head, which makes them a little difficult to wear during activities that require a helmet. I also think the comfort of the nose pads could be improved, although I admit they're pretty decent already--especially since the overall weight of the glasses is minimal and doesn't put too much pressure on the nose like heavier models. My glass MJs are bronze lenses, while these are grey. The bronze tends to make reds pop out and greens get higher in contrast (but turn yellowish instead of a nice natural green). With the grey lenses, the reds and yellows are still are great and vibrant (BTW, the lenses still have red push in them and are not neutral grey), but the primary colors are just not quite as jaw-dropping as with the bronze lenses. The grey lenses do make the colors seem more natural though. I definitely like them better for greens and blues and purples.Grey is supposed to be the darkest of the MJ lens options. However, plastic lenses are just not as dark as glass. My MJ Cyclone (bronze glass) seems much darker than these, even though these are grey. Keep that in mind when buying sunglasses for bright, direct Summer daylight. If you want dark, go for grey or bronze glass.Overall, I think these are a good compromise between weight, fit, clarity, colors, transmission, and price. I originally wanted to get the ultra-lightweight Titanium ones like the Little Beach, but there just wasnt a style small enough for my small face. These fit, have amazing colors and clarity (for plastic) and are pretty affordable as far as MJ prices go. Between these and my other pair of MJ, I think I'm ready for Summer.

This is my 2nd set of glasses from Maui Jims and I love them! Polarized is the only way to go. My wife has a pair as well, lost her first set and now we both have new pairs:) I highly recommend these and also that you keep your receipts and look after the warranty, they offer really good warranty care
