Dean and Dave Mustaine Dean Guitars is proud to intruduce the Dave Mustaine Signature VMNT series. Well-known in the metal world, Mustaine has been the driving force behind Megadeth for 25 years. The VMNT series offers Dave's special D shaped neck profile with a full two-octave, 24-fret neck, set up at the factory for fast, low action and easy access to upper frets. The guitars feature string-through-body design for serious sustain and playability, along with a variety of solid hardware appointments.
Mahogany Body Dean uses a mahogany body for this instrument. Mahogany is a common choice for electrics, dependably delivering a warm, full tone with plenty of punch and sustain.
Bolt-On Construction Bolt-on neck construction provides an affordable alternative to set-neck or thru-body designs. The advantage of this design is that if you do have any neck trouble down the line, you can easily replace it.
The VMNTX's maple neck features an ultra-playable 24-fret ebony fingerboard, with classic dot inlays.
Dean Humbucker Pickups To capture the biting tones of vintage Deans, the company includes two of its standard humbuckers, which provide more than enough bite for modern styles, along with plenty of low-end and midrange definition. The standard three-way selector allows bridge, neck, or a combination. Each pickup gets a volume pot, and they share the tone control.
Grover Tuners If you play guitar then you know what this means--solid, dependable tuning from the industry standard.
Small and lightweight, the Mini Grover tuners fit guitar headstocks that won't take full-size machines. The mini buttons provide more space for players' fingers (even larger fingers) to tune strings. Gear ratio is 14:1. Sealed-in lubrication keeps Mini-Rotomatics perfect for a lifetime!
Tone Pros Bridge
The Tone Pros bridge with string-thru-body design uses high-quality components to deliver serious sustain and intonation, for great sound and extremely reliable tuning.

By Derek Stevens
I used to play guitar years ago. I had never gotten truly proficient, but I knew a number of songs and wasn't bad at playing them. The problem was, I never really felt like I could play the stuff I listened to - Metallica, Megadeth, etc. Now, after about 8 or 9 years of not having a guitar (pawned off all of the guitars I had over the years, in needing to pay bills - never again!), I decided to pick up a guitar - one that would inspire me to learn some of my favorite songs ("The Thing That Should Not Be" and "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)", for example.)While I didn't buy this guitar from Amazon (I want to be able to hold and play an instrument before buying it), I'm quite happy that I did buy it. It may be the "low end" of the Dave Mustaine signature series but, as far as I can tell, there's nothing lacking other than a few frills like upgraded inlays and custom paint jobs.I've had my guitar for about a week now and I can't put it down. I've yet to find anything wrong with it or anything to complain about, save for the positioning of the strap buttons - one is right behind the neck, where it bolts on to the body, and the other is on the underside of the "top" leg of the V. A little difficult to get used to if you're used to strat-styles, but still pretty comfortable. I don't know if I'll ever be able to truly shred out some of the solos in some of the songs I want to learn, but I do know that I'll enjoy trying while playing this guitar. :D
