Product Description
The Snapshot 1.4 is a perfect choice for smaller or younger pilots who want to feel some power but might find the 1.9 or 2.5 too much to handle in stronger winds. Almost as fast as the smaller 1.2, it sports a solid pull and the crisp maneuverability that makes the Snapshots so perfect for dual-line training and all-around fun. We don’t know of another foil that can hold its own against a framed stunt kite for precision and cornering, and if you crash it’ll reinflate and launch easily without the dreaded walk of shame to set it back up. Comes ready to fly with Spectra lines pre-attached, flight straps, tail and compact storage pouch.

I did a little bit of searching and reading of reviews and decided on the Prism Snapshot 1.4 for my first kite. It arrived in 2 days and came in a nice self-contained carrying pouch and basic instructions. Since there was no assembly required on this kite, I unwound the lines and proceeded to find a spot where I wouldn't encounter any trees or other obstacles. The lines were of equal length (unlike some earlier complaints I had read about) and had a red and blue handle attached the ends. For the reviewer who said they needed gloves to fly this kite, um, that would be a no. ;) Perhaps I'm a quick study, perhaps the kite is well designed, or perhaps I had perfect wind conditions but it took me all of about 3 minutes to figure out how to control the kite and fly it back and forth, up, down, overhead, side to side... This kite is a lot of fun, pulls a bit in high wind and seems well made (in China) for the price. After making me about an hour late getting back to work from lunch, I put the kite back in the carry pouch and decided I want one about twice the size. :)

This is a great little kite to fly. It will make you want to fly everyday. I am going to upgrade to a larger model because I am a big guy and want more pull. I am thinking about the 1.9 or even the 2.5 but will still enjoy my 1.4.

I spent quite a bit of time deciding what kite to buy (1.2/1.4/1.9/2.5)I first purchased the 1.4 and have subsequently bought the 1.9First, the prism kites are high quality and have a very nice pouch to carry your new kite around in. A foil style kite like this is great to learn on as there isnt any pieces to break on the kite when (and it will) hit the ground hard. The main thing to know about these kites is that the 1.2 is fast and the 2.5 has a lot of pull, the rest fall in between.I started with the 1.4 as it came recommended to be the best compromise between speed and pull. I weigh 240 and in 15 mph winds (tree tops are swaying quite a bit) it gave a little bit of tug. I knew after this I was hooked. The 1.9 behaves quite nicely in 5-8 mph winds and above that becomes a bit like landing a big fish. I was out flying today in 15+ mph winds and felt like I was really flying it for the first time. I was involuntarily pulled forward 3-4 steps in large gusts and found myself leaning back quite a bit to compensate for the pull. It was exhilerating! I was not prepared for the difference between these two kites. If you arent sure about flying and dont want a workout in high winds get the 1.4 but you will likely want to purchase the 1.9 or 2.5 later. I like to give the 1.4 to friends who havent flown before to learn the controls wihtout being pulled around. If you are pretty sure you are going to like flying and are only going to purchase one kite get the 1.9 or 2.5.
