If you want an Audi A3 hitch, this is your one and only choice. Which is fine, because this hitch is as good as any aftermarket that I've seen. Good finish, quick ship, and the best price I found was right here on Amazon. It fits nicely, the instructions (although brief) are well done. Follow them step by step. Pretty easy install for any DIY'er.Only suggestion in installing is DON'T overlook the suggestion to use a magnet to retrieve the 10mm nuts from the posts that hold the bumper through the rear hatch frame. I forgot to do so, and when I pulled the bumper skin off they fell into the frame channel of the car- lost forever. New nuts are easy to come by at the depot. The hitch also has two carriage bolts that go through the spare tire well and look pretty useless to me. I guess it would help control a rattle, but I don't see how that thin sheet metal I drilled to install can increase the stability of the hitch in any meaningful way. Also, for the A3, if you're wiring for trailer lighting, there is some good DIY info on the 'net. It is NOT as simple as splicing the brake lights / turn light circuits- the A3 computer varies current to 3 independent lights in each tail lamp module. If it detects an unanticipated load, it will throw an error in the car's computer.

The is the best hitch on the market for the 2010 Audi A3 wagon. It's low-profile, easy to install -- and looks great.

Bought this for my 2011 A3 TDI so I can put a bike rack into it. I think it's pretty much the only one available for this car and thankfully it is a nice one! Install took about 5 hours (I was taking my time) but I think one could install this in a matter of a couple. Install was fairly easy, instructions fairly good.A couple of tips:1. When it says to loosen bumper support to slide the receiver in, it should say completely unbolt one side and loosen the other to get this in.2. Once it is in, all you need to do is tighten the bumper back up, mark the holes for drilling, then unbolt the bumper completely to drill.3. Check the threads on the bolt plates when you open the box! One of the threaded mounting plates had some weld slag in the threads so it was unusable. Went and bought some lock washers, flat washers, and some lock nuts to replace that part. I suppose I could have contacted Curt for a new plate but my car was already taken apart.Overall a quality hitch! Solid construction and a nice finish.
