Not the right foundation for me

The one good thing about this foundation is that I could return it. I am really grateful for that. I am sorry to say this foundation was like wearing chalk. It was dry, heavy, grainy and you really had to rub hard just to get it like that. I have fair, dry, rosacea type skin and was looking for a good cover up makeup. Sorry, this isn't it. I have the Cover FX in liquid form and that is much better. I would not recommend.

MAKEUP ARTIST'S POINT OF VIEW

I have been doing skin care and Makeup for close to 11 years and have worked with MANY lines of makeup. What I like so much about this line is it doesn't clog the pores, it's fragrance free, and oil free. For my clients who don't want airbrush makeup for their wedding I use this...it's literally the next best thing. It covers EVERYTHING. It doubles as a concealer as well.It is not a greasy foundation so for people struggling to move the product around on their skin I suggest misting your skin with water and applying moisturizer first. After your moisturizer sinks in put on a little primer if you'd like.On my own skin I scrape out a little foundation on a spatula apply this with my finger tips. The warmth of your hand softens the product nicely and helps it blend into the skin. It is a thicker foundation, but that is why it COVERS so well and it very water resistant! As a picky Esthetician and Makeup Artist I will never use another foundation on my clients skin or my own skin. This one wins my vote for coverage, texture, color range and being compatible with delicate skin. It also contains a sunscreen which adds an anti-aging protective benefit. Great for all ages and skin types.

DIFFERENT TYPE OF FOUNDATION LEAVES NICE COMPLEXION

Mostly I purchased Cover FX Total Coverage Foundation based on the good reviews that others gave it. First of all, I wasn't sure if I should be getting a primer with the foundation, but I only received the foundation. I'm guessing it has to be purchased separately. I wouldn't call the foundation "chalky" but I would call it kind of "waxy". I did use the product without the primer which can be done. The secret is blend, blend, blend and pat. It is a stiffer, non-oily or greasy consistency therefore the person applying it needs to be alert not to leave streaks of the foundation unblended. Also, I would say do not apply any moisturizer or cream to you face before using it, I tried that and the foundation rolled the cream into little balls which I had to blend out. This does make your skin look very beautiful once you have mastered putting it on. I love that it doesn't transfer onto anything and I love that it is not oily. You think it might be heavy like a mask, but honestly I don't feel it on and it seems to just melt into your skin. If you have very dry skin, this will probably adhere to it and make it more noticeable so I would not advise someone with that type of skin to purchase the foundation. It's very good at hiding any imperfections like dark circles or slight scars. You can use it around your eyes and it won't make your eye makeup run like I notice sometimes the oily foundation does that. I purchased shade E10 which is a Warm Ivory, but it is really light. Make sure you go on another site and see if you can match your shade from other descriptions. All in all, I really like this. My advice is to be highly conscious when applying the foundation so you don't have streaks, also don't use it on dry skin or blend it with another type of cream, and finally you probably want to buy the primer which I'm going to do. You will love the flawless look that you are left with that seems to last until bedtime.
