By Wizard
Had one and got rid of it. The sound was only so, so and it's WAY OVERPRICED. Lacks a rich full sound with a Sunrise pickup. I switched to a BBE Acoustimax and what a difference. The BBE Acoustimax has a full and very rich sound, and more complete and very noticeable tonal adjustments. It also has a dead quiet effects loop, a DI out like the PZ. I didn't find any real use for the boost on the PZ. Two of the foot switches on the PZ I found to be placed way too high up on the pedal, and the slide switches got dirt in them almost immediately. Not a good design in my view. For the cost of the PZ I thought it would be exceptional and shine above other similar pedals. Well, unfortunately it doesn't.

The Radial Engineering Tonebone PZ Pre: Acoustic guitar pream/direct box is definitely one of the best pieces of equipment I have purchased!!!! This thing has put my sound and tone on a whole other level. The effects loop is perfect, chrystal clear, no signal noise at all. Very easy to use and change settings/dial in the exact sound & tone that will separate you from the rest.I recommend this product to anyone on the market for an acoustic guitar direct box.Radial Tonebone PZ-Pre Acoustic Preamp

By Mark Koppen
I had been working for many years with a Boss AD-3 for use in my church - it did the job, but I started looking for something that could handle two guitars and be a bit of a step up. The PZ-Pre not only provides two channels, but has enough controls to be manageable and give you a great sound. My guitars never sounded better, whether I am using a soundhole magnetic pickup or a built-in system like the Tayor ES or Fishman Aura analog (on a Martin). The versatility of this preamp pedal is tremendous without becoming overwhelming for a fairly simple user like me. Typically I will go two guitars into the preamp and then to the house PA via the post-EQ out. I've had this about 3 months now and am very satisfied - people say I'm sounding better than ever.
