Fixed my emissions problem

My 1990 Audi failed Colorado emissions. After doing all the easy engine tune-ups it still wasn't close. I bought this and paid a local muffler shop $113 to weld it in. My emissions test results were lower than they have been in years. A different muffler shop had suggested that I put in a more modern cat since it does an even better job. That was not necessary and would have cost more than twice as much.Before you go into the muffler shop, take a picture of and mark your current cat. Ask for it back and make sure they gave you the right one. If there is still catalyst inside you can get a fair amount for the unit -- perhaps half or more of what you paid for this cat. Search online -- there are at least a couple of companies that you can just mail the old cat to which will save you finding a place locally to buy it. In my case, the innards of my old cat were completely disintegrated so my old one was worthless.Note that this is not an acceptable part for California cars. If you are in California, check the CARB website.
