If you are looking for a cover that will keep the contents of your bed protected from the elements while maximizing space, then get this cover because it really does the job. The initial installation took about an hour. A few days after installation, there was driving rain storm and not a drop in the bed. I was concerned that it would be loud and flap in the wind at higher speeds or that it would be difficult to use the rear view mirror but it is remarkably quite and easy to see. As long as you remember that everything must be strapped as if it does not have a cover because it does not provide any support, you will be very happy with this cover. Why only 4 stars? This was advertized as "folds in seconds". It does fold in seconds but only after several minutes of preparations including removing and storing the side windows and it takes a little longer to reassemble. I was not thrilled about having to carefully store the side windows but still quite satisfied with the product.

I purchased this item in September 2011 for my 1996 Ford Ranger Pick Up. Picked this item based upon price and reputation of the manufacturer. Package arrived in good shape and on time. Installed the topper alone one afternoon in about 4 hours. Found the installation instructions quite clear and logical. Only real issue was with the 4 hold down clamps included with the product. The clamps are supposed to hold the base of the topper frame to the truckbed walls, eliminating the need for drilling and installing bolts through the top of the bed. I could never get these clamps to tighten down and stay in place, so I did drill holes in the rail and top of truckbed wall to secure the topper in four places. The prouduct performs as promised, does NOT flap in the wind while driving and is quite waterproof during driving. Don't recommend going through a car wash, however. DIY car wash is fine-only minimal seepage from the spray gun along base rail. What impressed me most is the way Bestop handled a warranty issue which arose in November 2011. After a long drive, I noticed that the glazing material on the rear window was beginning to separate from the supporting fabric. I contacted Bestop and spoke with Jimmy in Customer Service. Expecting a load of questions and verification of invoice numbers and warranty registration, I was pleasantly surprised to be off the phone in less than 5 minutes with a promise that the replacement part would be shipped no charge. They did, I got it and it is installed. Thanks Bestop. This is s good product backed up by an honest company. Rare these days. A good buy.

I have a 2008 Ford Ranger, and wanted a topper for it. I began the search and I just kept coming up with Hard Shell toppers. No what I really wanted. So I asked a couple retailers and they told me there were soft toppers, like Jeeps, that can be rolled/folded up. Went on here, looked at reviews, and viola. The one I wanted. The Good.It is easy to put together, if you can read instructions. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! Lol. There is some tricky steps, due to the typical ill written instructions. When the hell will instruction manual makes finally put a DVD or some crap in there to watch them build it, instead of poorly xeroxed copies?Looks awesome. Had it up for over a year, and the sun barely put a dent in the vinyl. Tiny bit of fading, but was in a desert environment. The MehOrdered it, opened it, missing damn parts. Had to give it up 1/3 of the way in to get those parts from Bestop. The good is, they sent them priority mail, arrived within 2 days, and the did this all for free. So, yay them!It is not water tight. It resists a LOT of water, but water will get in. Usually by the front flap, around the edging of the windows, and the back window. Which leads to...Those damn windows. They are a pain in the ass to get in, get out. Ones you get them in, you will never, ever want to take them out. But they will on their own, while driving. Not like POOF flies out. But they will slowly slide off their track, unzip, so you have to check on them. Back window is worse. When you lift the flap, it comes off its track, falls off all the damn time. To remedy this, I bought double stick all season velcro. I put it on the sides and tops of the bac window flap, and the tops and sides of the side window flaps. This little bit kept the wind off of them, which allowed the windows to stay in place. If you plan on keeping stuff in it, remember the vinyl makes it much hotter than a regular shell. On a sunny day, the black vinyl will attract the sun quite well. It got very...very hot in there quick. The BAD.I think most of the "bad" complaints were up above. Nothing that I was like what a piece of crap. I always put in the minor complaints, slight headaches, etc. cause it is best to know more about it, then nothing at all. This is tough and has served me well. Thanks!
