5PLEASE READ THIS! AMAZING PRODUCT! BUY THIS PRODUCT!
By Ryan Burick
Before anything else I want to say that I realize that there are MANY reviews out there stating that this product isn't good, breaks easily, and that all Go-Peds are not created equal, BUT the people that have said this do not know the proper way to use or care for Go-Peds.IF YOU ARE EASY ON THE PULL STARTER IT WILL NOT BREAK. Many people say that this pull starter is cheap and breaks easily, but what they are NOT TELLING you is that they are pulling it very hard and to the end of its rope ( literally ). The pull start on these models is an "easy pull" and you need to just pull it moderately quick for a very short distance and allow the recoil action of the starter turn the motor over! If you are gentle on it, it should never break on you and start the Go-Ped very easily every time!If you BREAK IT IN CORRECTLY you will not have engine problems such as seizing, scoring badly, or losing compression quickly. I recommend 2 or three tanks going from a stop to MODERATE RPM for several seconds and then starting again until those tanks of fuel are ALMOST FINISHED ( try to never run a two stroke DRY ).IF YOU USE HIGH QUALITY TWO STROKE OIL you will have an engine that runs great for a long period of time, a reliable scooter, and very little to worry about as far as engine life goes. I recommend BLUE MARBLE.IF YOU LUBE THE CHAIN AND HAVE THE PROPER TENSION ON IT you will not break chains, throw chains, drop chains, and they will last a very long time. The chain is small, but it works just fine. When it is dirty clean it with a rag and then put some fresh oil on it! Then take a rag and wipe the excess oil off so it doesn't get all over everything! I recommend PJ-1.IF YOU KEEP IT STORED OUT OF THE WEATHER AND DRY IT OFF WHEN IT GETS WET it will not rust and the parts on it will stay factory fresh.IF you RIDE IT HARD then INSPECT IT as things are more likely to be damaged! These things are built very well, but if you take it off loading docks and such there is a ton of stress put on many parts so inspect the scooter as you would your ATV or Dirt bike before taking it to a MX course!Do you need to upgrade these to make them run well? NO. They will come to you ready to run just fin and will do so without problems as long as you do the things above! HOWEVER, if you DO UPGRADE them they WILL GO FASTER, but they will be LOUDER and you WILL LOSE COMPRESSION OF THE MOTOR FASTER ( as you are INCREASING RPM's to gain speed you are DECREASING the life span of the engine )! If you are wanting to upgrade your Go-Ped Trail Ripper or Interceptor ALL YOU REALLY NEED IS a quality air filter, an exhaust pipe, a boost bottle kit, and a change in gearing. These are the things that will make the BIGGEST difference and all other upgrades are either for looks or "wants". One more thing worth consideration is your clutch springs. The ones that come on these models engage at a very high RPM. davesmotors.com sells "clutch saver" springs for the GP460 clutch that engages much sooner in the power band for smoother acceleration and less wear and tear on the clutch shoes and springs!I have owned three of these Go-Peds without any problems and two of them have been used by others before me and abused! If you take care of them they will not upset you :-)! They have very powerful motors that will take the rider almost anywhere easily and are small enough to throw in the back of a car. The materials that they are made out of great and very strong! They are easily fixed / upgraded / tuned and will last for many years if taken care of properly! So if you need any further advice or need tips and tricks on the best things you can do to keep everything running smoothly feel free to email me at ryanburick@yahoo.com.There may be people that say "do not listen to this" and "you do not have to do that", but remember THOSE ARE THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE PROBLEMS/ISSUES. While I CANNOT say you WILL NEVER have an issue, I CAN say if you listen to me you will not only have MANY LESS you MAY never have any!

5Greatness!!!
By KelcieR
This is one of the best, most well put together scooters i've ever owned. If you've never owned a Go-ped you need to understand that you will have to maintain the scooter. The carb will need to be tuned from time to time, you have to oil the air filter, keep air in the tire, keep screws tight, and make sure you've mixed gas/2 stroke oil properly. If you take care of this scooter you will love it for a really long time.Plus, the current price is cheaper than what you can normally find a used one for.

5Goped GTR 46i Trail Ripper Intercepter is the finest!
By bugmike
This is the second stand up scooter I own. The first lasted ten years and is still going strong! I wanted the Trail Ripper because of the full suspension and high performance motor. This machine is very strong and well built but also very light in weight. The performance is outstanding! After a break in period of two tanks I now enjoy the use of full throttle and let me tell you to hang on when this thing takes off! Acceleration is strong and if you pull up at full throttle you will lift the front wheel easily. This scooter, like all gas powered scooters, will require periodic adjustments to keep things properly tuned. I have needed to make some carb and brake adustments and one chain adjustment since the break in. The brakes are really good and the tires provide amazing grip. I just can't wait for spring so I can ride again! If I had to make any complaints, I would say that the kickstand could use a redesign as it is very weak and will fold past its down position and let your $1000 plus scooter fall right on the motor. I will be making a warranty claim with Goped about the kickstand. Overall I think this scooter is amazing and would make any gearhead happy. Keep in mind that you will need some mechanical skills to keep things set. If you avoid the maintenance and adjustments, you will do damage so I am not sure this is good for kids. I know this scooter costs more than most, but I have never had this much fun for the price. I recommend to anyone looking for a thrill ride you can fit in your trunk!
