Product Description
For nearly a century, Fasco has been designing and manufacturing what has become the industry's most respected line of AC motors and blowers. Many of the new energy-efficient gas furnaces use induced draft blowers to control flue gas. All induced draft blowers incorporate some type of signaling device to alert the furnace that the induced draft blower is operating. Some use a sail switch in the exhaust air stream. Others utilize a centrifugal switch or electronic sensor built into the motor, and some use a static pressure tap in the blower housing. All blowers are intended to provide air flow prior to ignition. In today's furnace market, draft inducers are becoming a common replacement part. Since these furnaces are being designed with specific induced draft blowers, it is very important that replacements are installed using exact replacements. It is important that the replacements match the original blower for safety reasons. These blowers play an important part in controlling the availability of gas to the burners. Most blowers will employ either a centrifugal switch, electronic sensor or a vacuum tap to generate a signal to the gas valve that the induced draft blower is operating.

First off: The seller is awesome! Fast shipping! The following is not about the seller (will buy from again) but the product itself. At first I was surprised to find this item on Amazon, it's a blower motor for a hot water heater. The pictures looked like the item I needed and the part numbers matched up so I purchased it. I was disappointed that I couldn't get higher resolution pictures, especially around the connectors.Upon receiving the unit I noticed that the connectors from the controller box to the hot water heater were of different types. The older units used a Molex 4 pin connection, this one was a six pin connection. Looking at the schematics proved that the additional two pins were not used so this unit is compatible but manual rewiring is necessary. This was not a big deal since my problem was with the fan unit itself and not the attached controller (you get both, the fan unit is attached to the controller and the fan can be attached to the old controller unit.)To fix this I was able to take the new fan unit and attach it to the old controller that attached to the hot water heater and all was well. Simply detach the "fan" portion of the new unit and attach it to the controller box of the old unit and it will work fine (unless the controller unit is your problem, which is unlikely.)The biggest problem with this units design is the use of plastic in the fan blades. The plastic can not withstand the heat coming from the gas burners from the water heater. This is my third replacement, each had plastic fan blades that fail and cause imbalance that generates loud noise until the entire fan itself blows apart. This is a major design flaw. The controller unit in all replacements was fine, it was simply the fan unit itself. My former neighbor was able to find a replacement unit that used metal blades on the fan for his unit, but his house was foreclosed and he moved on and I haven't been able to find him to seek out where he got his all metal fan unit from. The negative about the plastic fan is not a slam against this seller, I will buy from this seller again, but the negativity is against the manufacture for using plastic fan blades in the design that can not withstand such high temperatures that will fail in a range of between one to three years. My next replacement will be the all metal design, hopefully this merchant will be stocking it.

After discovering we had no hot water, I played around with our hot water heater and found out that the blower went out. More specifically, it was a plastic fan that broke inside the blower. For some reason, you can't just buy the $10 part by itself, you have to replace the whole blower/motor...great. So now, it was a matter of calling someone to come over, check it out, find the part, and have them install it or simply do all that stuff myself. After talking to almost 20 people and searching the internet endlessly, I found these guys to deliver it for the cheapest price and they went out of their way to make sure that we got it within 2 days. When you've already been without hot water for a few days, every single day counts! Bottom line, these guys (and doing the work myself, which is not that difficult - I literally had NO experience with hot water heaters) saved us hundreds of dollars. They are the best, plain and simple. My entire family thanks you very much!!!

This Fasco replacement solved the problem. Two items of note. The fan is now sleeve bearing instead of ball bearing. This is not a big deal to me. The control box has a different connector to the water tank (6-pin instead of the original 4-pin). I did as others suggested and simply used my old control box. The unit is quality built and there were no installation problems. I would recommend it.
