Newly redesigned, the 190XPROB makes the famous Manfrotto-patented horizontal center column feature even easier to use. Now, by extending the column to its highest vertical position, it can be swung around to horizontal without removing the head or disassembling the column itself, so switching between framing and positioning setups is more convenient than ever. Worth every cent

Yes it is more expensive than I was used to by other tripods, and yes is bulky and a little big to carry arround all the time. Appart from this, it is what I wanted out of a tripod: firm even on windy situations, the grip head lets you a very quick position of the camera, the leg system of the tripos lets you adjust to every imagine or unreal scenario. If you like to shoot portraits or macro photography you will be very pleased with this versatility. I would defenetely recommend this product if you are or you are becoming a serious photographer.

Never had a tripod this nice before. . . previously the tripod was purchased as a follow-on an afterthought. This time I hunted through reviews and ads and took a friend's advice and got the Manfrotto. It was a real step up from the flimsy and cheaply made tripods I'd had previously. And it solved problems I had no idea a tripod could solve. How to get close to the ground. How to set up close to an object without the legs getting in the way. I knew about levels, so that was a plus too. But it's the firmness of the tripod and it's sturdiness that got my heart. Now, I haven't used it a whole lot, so I'm still getting used to the design of the tripod head. I would have preferred something a little more conventional with a pan lever, but, hey. . .in time I know I can get this to work the way I want it to. . .or learn to use it the way _it_ wants me to.

The tripod and head combination is a lot of fun to use! I use it with a Canon 40D and shooting on a tripod has never been more easy/fun.The included 30" Tripod case fits perfectly! I don't have to remove the head from the tripod legs! I can just put the entire tripod into the case and have it out of the case when I need it without downtime of assemblying! (well, apart from extending the legs :P )
